About Health and Physical Education

  • District 126 believes a healthy body is a prerequisite for participation in and enjoyment of the many activities provided by the school and society and places a high value upon our Health and Physical Education Programs. The state of Illinois echoes the importance of these subjects by including successful completion of both Health and Physical Education coursework in all public school graduation requirements.

Our concern goes beyond that of physical conditioning alone. It extends to the development of and appreciation for activity as a means of reducing tensions inherent in a highly technical and swift-moving society. It also encompasses the teaching of these types of recreational activities that will engage the individual to remain an active participant, rather than as passive spectators, in the years beyond one's high school experience.
