DRILL TEAM
 
 
 
 
 
 

The NJROTC Drill Team is a competitive marching team currently made up of 55 members.The Drill Team has both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams that compete throughout the school year. They have entered several meets and had finished in the top three in every competition against ten to twenty teams, winning three times.

 
 
Drill team is made up these five teams:
1. Unarmed Basic Drill (IDR) - The Unarmed Basic Drill team drills following a card of commands that are called out to them by their leader
2. Armed Basic Drill (IDR) - The Armed Basic Drill team drills following a card of commands called out to them by their leader while carrying rifles
3. Unarmed Exhibitions - The Unarmed Exhibitions team drills following the routines that they have created (free marching)
4. Armed Exhibitions - The Armed Exhibitions team drills following the routine they created while handling rifles (free marching)
5. Color Guard - The Color Guard team consists of a 4-5 person team, in which 2 people hold rifles, and the other 2-3 people hold and present flags. The team marches following commands that their leader calls out.



Requirements of Drill Team:

Among other requirements, all cadets within the Drill Team must meet the following qualifications:
1. All cadets must be willing to wear the uniform correctly
2. All cadets must have and show respect
3. All cadets must be willing to work hard and be energetic while communicating and working with others.
4. All cadets must be able to participate in practice five days out of the week & additional practices over holidays

Practices are sessions after school where the team assembles and does drill as well as discuss events. Normally, practice is held on a daily basis.
